It looks like McDonalds is actually trying to help children get healthy. They have decided to remove cheeseburgers and chocolate milk from Happy Meals. The company is attempting to cut down calories, sodium, sugar and saturated fat. Customers can still receive these items if they specifically ask.
Other healthy choices the company has made include cutting down fry sizes in Happy Meals, adding fruit, and adding Apple Juice with less sugar. McDonald’s has been trying to shake its junk food image, as families feel they are a direct connection to child obesity.
The changes will happen in June.
