On Wednesday, the Tar River Regional Drug Task Force arrested over 30 individuals after a six-month long drug investigation being called “Operation Silent Night.” The operation targeted over 50 street level narcotic dealers in and around Nash County, along with 52 individuals for narcotic related crimes.
During the search, officials said they found $9,435, a semi-automatic rifle, a semi-automatic 9mm pistol, and 2.1 grams of Marijuana. A search warrant was conducted on Mt. Zion Church Road.
“Coordinated efforts between agencies like those that make up the Tar River Regional Task Force, are vital to combating the drug issue in our neighborhoods,” said Sheriff Keith Stone. “We will continue to partner together and tackle these issues as a team”.
Heroin and cocaine seemed to be the targeted narcotic.
