Michael Phelps is taking swimming to a whole other level. The Olympics swimmer will be going up against a Great White shark in a race in honor of Discovery Channel's Shark Week happening the week on July 23rd. Now before you start making bets, let me give you some facts on sharks. When in attack-mode, sharks can go up to 25 mph. On a normal day just causing, sharks go about 5 mph. In 2010, Michael Phelps was clocked by ESPN at 6 mph. As fares the Olympics go, he has set 39 world records and won 28 Olympic medals, 23 of which are gold.
