United Airlines Settles with Passenger Dragged Off of Plane
Looks like Dr. David Dao won't have to take United Airlines to court. Dao's team and United Airlines have come to an agreement but did not disclose the finances involved in the case.
Dr. Dao was dragged off of an overbook flight when no one volunteered to leave. Law enforcement was called when Dr. Dao refused to leave. He suffered a concussion and lost teeth during the incident. As a result of what happened, United has said they will no longer use force when removing a paid customer.
The officer who removed the man has since been suspended.
"Mr. Munoz said he was going to do the right thing, and he has," Dao's lawyer said. "In addition, United has taken full responsibility for what happened...without attempting to blame others, including the City of Chicago."
